At Highview Dental, your safety and the safety of our team always come first. We follow the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) Infection Prevention and Control Standard, along with Public Health Ontario guidance and each equipment manufacturer’s instructions. Our hygienists also follow the standards of the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO). Here’s what that looks like behind the scenes.
Ultrasonic Cleaning
After each use, instruments are first cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaner. Sound waves loosen and lift away debris, so instruments go into sterilization thoroughly clean.
Statim® Autoclave Sterilization
Instruments are then sterilized in our SciCan Statim® autoclave, which uses pressurized steam to destroy bacteria, viruses and spores. We also use a separate biological monitoring system to regularly test our autoclave and confirm it is working exactly as it should.
Clean Treatment Rooms
Before every patient, we wipe down treatment room surfaces with CaviWipes™ disinfectant wipes, so your room is clean and ready when you sit down.
Medical-Grade Air Filtration
Medical-grade HEPA air filtration units help keep the air in our office clean. They capture 99.99% of airborne particles down to 0.1 micron.
Hand Hygiene
You’ll find hand sanitizer stations at our entrance and throughout the office. Our team cleans their hands before and after every patient and wears fresh gloves for each patient.
Clean Shared Spaces
High-touch areas around the office, such as door handles, counters, chairs and washrooms, are disinfected throughout the day.
