At Highview Dental we have always followed strict infection control standards in accordance with the guidelines from Public Health, The Royal College of Dental Surgeons (RCDSO), The Ontario Dental Association (ODA) and The College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO). In order to keep us all protected during this pandemic, and in the future, we have implemented some new equipment and protocols.
- We have installed plexiglass shields at the front reception area.
- We have sealed-off all treatment rooms that generate aerosol during procedures.
- We have medical grade HEPA Air Filtration units which capture 99.99% of all particles down to 0.1 micron.
- All patients must complete the COVID-19 screening questionnaire on the same day of their appointment.
- All staff must complete the COVID-19 screening questionnaire every day.
- We have setup a “virtual waiting room” for you to check-in via phone call and to wait outside the clinic until we are ready for your appointment.
- Individuals accompanying a patient are instructed to wait outside the practice unless absolutely required (e.g., a parent & child or a patient who requires assistance).
- We have a hand sanitation station at the entrance that we will ask you to use when you enter the clinic. There are additional dispensers throughout he office.
- We require all patients to wear a mask in all areas of the clinic except in treatment rooms where masks will be removed only once treatment is initiated.
- All dentists, hygienists and assistants will be wearing additoinal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Public Health and RCDSO & CDHO guidelines.
- We will provide you with an anti-viral mouth rinse prior to certain procedures.
- Appointments are spaced out to allow for physical distancing between patients and to allow for our increased safety protocols.
- We disinfect high touch areas around the office, including our washrooms, on a continuous basis throughout the day.
We are continually evaluating and enhancing both our physical office along with policies and protocols to ensure safety and excellent patient care.
